Hiking & Leadership Club
The Hiking & Leadership Club is a Newtown High School program open to all students. We bring the students out of the City and into the woods and mountains. Here they learn a variety of topics in Earth Science and Environmental Science as we hike many trails in nature. The students go on to be advocates and stewards of the Environment.
This year we have 130 students on the roster and growing. The following pictures are from the last series of trips!
El "Hiking Y Leadership Club" es un programa de Newtown High School abierto a todos los estudiantes. Sacamos a los estudiantes de la ciudad y los llevamos a los bosques y montañas. Aquí aprenden una variedad de temas en Ciencias de la Tierra y Ciencias Ambientales mientras recorremos muchos senderos en la naturaleza. The Hiking Club had a fantastic outing. 55 students and 9 staff hiked across the George Washing Bridge and onto the trail in the Pailsades. An amazing day was had on this 8.2 mile jaunt! See the pictures below.

Our Club is the largest at Newtown High School and we value every member. The club has all genders, all ethnicities, all languages and everyone is welcome. It is a wonderful thing to see students enjoying nature, exercising and becoming a part of the Newtown community.
Nuestro club es el más grande de Newtown High School y valoramos a cada miembro. El club tiene todos los géneros, todas las etnias, todos los idiomas y todos son bienvenidos.
