NYU Italian Poetry Contest
On Saturday December 4th 2024, 3 student's from Ms Pati's Italian class participated in a poetry contest at NYU Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimo`. Seniors Esther Magana, Marieni Nunez, and junior Craig Gu, participated in the Level 3 Italian competition, and Craig came in 3rd place! He was very excited, and his parents attended as well. It was a citywide event and was pretty competitive; some schools that participated included Xavier High School and St. Francis Prep, and other public schools of course. A few other Newtown students came to support their peers including Jamie Lynn Cush, Leslie Quizphi, Scott Ulloa, and Emily Rodriguez-Perez (all seniors).
