2019 Community and Citywide Education Council Election

The Community and Citywide Education Councils give parents a powerful voice in shaping the policies and priorities for New York City schools. From advising the Chancellor to working directly with the district superintendent and reviewing district educational programs and needs, the 32 Community Education Councils and 4 Citywide Education Councils play a major role in education policy and help make our public schools the best they can be.

Newtown High School Career Day

The Newtown High School College Access For All team will be hosting a Career Day Event on Tuesday, February 12th. Join us on February 12th periods 4-
7 in the school’s library to listen to a variety of professionals as they share

Newtown High School Welcomes Middle School Articulation Coordinators for Breakfast and School Tour!

We were delighted to host middle school articulation coordinators on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 for a breakfast, presentation and tour of the school. We were proud to share all of the many wonderful programs and opportunities available to all middle school students. Everyone enjoyed the event, and Newtown High School was proud to share all of the many reasons why "we tower above the rest!"

Newtown High School Financial Aid Night

On Thursday, October 4th, the Newtown High School College Office will host its annual Financial Aid Night. We will discuss the different ways students can receive money to pay for college.There will be a presentation in English starting at 5:30pm and one in Spanish at 7:00pm. Both presentations will take place in the school library.

2018 Big Apple College Fair

Over 200 Colleges will be present at the annual Big Apple College Fair at the Jacob Javits Center. The fair will take place on Sunday, October 21st. This is a free fair and no registration is required.
