ENL Parent Night & Skill-Building Workshop Series

Hello everyone,

I’m excited to share the success of our biannual ENL new student orientation, which took place this past Wednesday! We were thrilled to welcome 50 ENL parents who took part in the event. Parents learned about our school’s academic support services, tutoring opportunities, graduation requirements, and how to access their student’s grades.

In addition, they participated in a special entrepreneurial workshop titled “Start Small. Earn Smart: Business Basics for Immigrant Parents.” This session is part of our ongoing four-week Skill-Building Workshop Series, designed to help parents launch their own businesses on a shoestring budget.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to Ms. Berkowitz and Ms. Martinez for conducting the ENL orientation in two languages, and to Ms. Lising, Ms. Casio, Ms. Zapata, and Ms. Veyvoda for their invaluable help in making this event such a success. I would also like to acknowledge Ms. Cheng, who provided wonderful support for our Chinese-speaking parents. Thank you, Ms. Cheng, for your help and for representing our guidance counselors, who work tirelessly to support the students and families we serve.
