Physical Education

The Physical Education Department at Newtown High School is committed to fostering a lifelong appreciation for health, wellness, and physical activity in every student. Our mission is to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle, both now and in the future.
We believe that Physical Education is a vital part of a well-rounded education. It not only promotes physical health, but also enhances mental well-being, builds character, teaches teamwork, and develops leadership and communication skills. Through diverse activities, from individual fitness and team sports to recreational games and wellness education, students learn to set personal goals, overcome challenges, and discover the types of movement and exercise they enjoy.
