Coed Cricket Varsity

The cricket team is a spring sport.  The season starts March 1st.

Mr. Wozniak has been the cricket coach since 2014.  Newtown has made the playoffs 8 years and made it to the semifinal's in 2025.

1. Focus on Development:
Our primary goal is to help each player develop their skills, knowledge, and love for cricket. We emphasize learning and improvement over winning alone.

2. Teamwork and Respect:
Cricket is a team sport that teaches us the value of cooperation, communication, and respect—for teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials.

3. Sportsmanship:
We play with integrity and fairness, valuing respect and humility whether we win or lose. Good behavior on and off the field is a reflection of our character.

4. Fun and Passion:
Cricket should be enjoyable. We encourage enthusiasm, passion, and a positive attitude in all players, making the experience memorable and rewarding.

5. Discipline and Commitment:
Success requires dedication, effort, and responsibility. Players are encouraged to commit to regular practice, maintain discipline, and support their teammates.

6. Inclusivity and Opportunity:
Everyone interested in cricket should have the opportunity to participate, learn, and contribute regardless of skill level or background.

7. Lifelong Learning:
Cricket teaches life lessons—patience, strategy, resilience, and leadership—that extend beyond the game. We aim to build not only cricketers but confident, respectful young people.
