Ms. Giakoumis

Hello!

My name is Panagiota Giakoumis, and I am a Global History teacher at Newtown High School. I’ve been proudly teaching at Newtown for 15 years, and it truly feels like home — a place where we tower above the rest!

Teaching has always been my passion and something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I believe that every student deserves a classroom where they feel seen, supported, and challenged to think critically about the world around them.

In addition to my role as a Social Studies teacher, I also serve as Newtown’s Respect for All Liaison, 504 Coordinator, and MTSS Coordinator. Through these roles, I am dedicated to ensuring that every student receives the academic, social, and emotional support they need to reach their fullest potential.
