AP English Language and Composition and Sophomore English
This school year marks my sixteenth year at Newtown High School, and it has been an absolute pleasure to be part of the Newtown family for so long. As a Newtown teacher, I find great joy and fulfillment when my students are actively engaged, ask thoughtful questions, and rise to the challenges set before them.
Currently, I teach Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, AP Seminar, Sophomore English Honors, College Now: Reading the Biography, and College Now: Public Speaking. Each course offers a unique opportunity for students to explore a wide range of topics and genres while developing their critical thinking, reading, and communication skills.
As coach of the Newtown Debate Team, I am proud to lead a group of students who consistently rise to the challenge of tackling complex, real-world issues. Under my guidance, the team has grown into a competitive and collaborative force, earning recognition across American Debate League tournaments. Each round showcases not only our students’ critical thinking and public speaking skills, but also the dedication and drive that define Newtown Debate.
