What to expect in English 12:

English 12 Honors Core Literature:

  • In this course, students are exposed to different genres of literature with an emphasis on Dystopian and Existential literature. 
  • Through close reading and analysis of each of the texts, students are encouraged to challenge their belief systems, norms, and question the reason why we humans are the way we are.

Writing Focus:

  • As part of the course, students will engage in extended writing assignments tailored to different audiences and purposes. Two major areas of focus will be the College Essay/Personal Statement and the Research Essay. These key projects are designed to help students strengthen their writing skills and prepare for the expectations of college-level work.
