Pre-Nursing & Diagnostic Medicine

The Newtown High School Healthcare Pathways program offers two primary tracks: Diagnostic Medicine and Pre-Nursing. The Diagnostic Medicine Pathway provides students with comprehensive coursework in Health Sciences and medical diagnostic technologies, preparing them for diverse college and career opportunities. The Pre-Nursing Pathway is designed for students pursuing a CTE Pre-Nursing program with NYSED approval.

Our Healthcare Pathways nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals through four years of sequential coursework, equipping students with essential knowledge, skills, and a strong foundation for success in post-secondary education and careers.

Foundations of Anatomy and Physiology 2 is the second of two semester-long lab courses introducing basic anatomy and physiology. It builds on the knowledge and skills learners developed during Anatomy and Physiology 1 and covers the following body systems: cardiovascular, respiratory, lymphatic system and immunity, digestive, urinary, and reproductive.
