Business New Media and E-Commerce

Overview:

We prepare our students for meaningful career pathways in the business industry and readiness to compete in the 21st Century workforce. Our business teachers stand by the concept and belief of bringing a classroom to life by the application of hands on - real-world classroom experiences.

Students participate in a rigorous business program that provides opportunities with paid internships, job shadowing, private and public sector mentoring programs, Shark Tank reenactments, business plan competitions, business debates and the development of your own business. Our very own business students facilitate and take the lead by providing parents, businesses and members of the community with financial literacy workshops, resume writing and computer applications training.

The exciting program provides an emphasis in college and workforce competencies focused on clarity of communication, public speaking, presenting, synthesis of research, project-based instruction, real-world applications, innovation, and authentic problem-solving opportunities such as game-like virtual enterprise classroom simulations.

Students are able to obtain a CTE Endorsed diploma at the completion of the program. They are also given the opportunity at no cost to the student to become Microsoft Specialist Certified in Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as an Adobe Associate on Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks or Flash.
